How to delete pdf pages
- Choose one PDF, or drop it on the page.
- Type the pages to delete, like 2, 5-8. Everything else stays.
- Press Delete pages. The remaining pages are copied, untouched, into a new file.
- Download the trimmed PDF.
About deleting pages
Deleting copies the pages you want to keep into a fresh document, in their original order, and leaves the named pages out. The kept pages are byte-for-byte copies: text stays selectable, images keep their resolution, nothing is re-rendered or re-compressed.
The range syntax matches the other page tools: a number like 5, a span like 5-12, or a comma-separated mix. Ranges outside the document are reported with the valid range instead of guessing. Deleting every page is refused outright, because an empty PDF helps nobody.
The typical jobs: stripping a blank last page from a scan, removing a signature page before sharing a draft, cutting adverts out of a downloaded statement, or removing an appendix before sending the report onward.
Limits and honest notes
One document per run. To trim several PDFs, run them one at a time; the single-file design keeps the range syntax unambiguous.
Pages are removed from the page tree, but deletion is not forensic erasure: copies of the file may still contain the data in older backups you hold. If a page must truly be destroyed, delete it and keep only the new file.
Password-protected documents are reported as errors. Up to 25 MB per document; the whole job runs in this tab.
Frequently asked questions
How do I delete a single page?
Type just that number, like 4. You get the document back without page four, and every other page keeps its content and quality.
Does deleting re-compress my file?
No. Kept pages are copied byte-for-byte into the new document, so quality is exactly what it was.
What if I delete every page by mistake?
The tool refuses and explains, rather than producing an empty PDF. Type the range again, leaving at least one page out.
Can I delete pages from a password-protected PDF?
Not while it is protected. Unlock it first with the unlock tool, then delete the pages.
