About QR codes

A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode: any phone camera reads it and turns the pattern back into your text, usually opening a link. They work for menus, Wi-Fi handouts, payment links, event tickets and the back of a business card, wherever typing a URL is more friction than pointing a camera.

Error correction is the setting that matters most. The code carries redundant data, so a scuffed printout or a logo slapped on top still scans: Low is fine for screens, Medium suits most printing, High survives real-world damage. The quiet zone (the blank border) is not decoration; 4 modules is the standard minimum that keeps scanners happy.

The code is drawn with the standard encoder on a canvas at the size you choose, in the site's own ink-on-paper colours: it prints cleanly and scans on the first try. The output is a PNG you can drop into a document, a slide or a sticker sheet.

Limits and honest notes

More text means a denser pattern that needs better cameras and better print quality. Under a hundred characters scans effortlessly; approaching two thousand, use a link shortener first.

The content is exactly what you type, nothing appended. For payment or Wi-Fi formats, type the standard payload string the receiving app expects.

Generation runs in this tab: your text never leaves the device. The PNG is yours, no watermark, no expiry, no tracking.

Frequently asked questions

What can I put in a QR code?

Any text: a URL, plain text, a phone number, a Wi-Fi payload string, a vCard. Whatever the scanning app supports.

Which error correction should I pick?

Medium for print, High for stickers and labels that will get scuffed, Low for on-screen use.

Does the QR code ever expire?

Never. The pattern encodes your text directly; there is no service behind it, no redirect, no tracking.

Is the text I type uploaded?

No. The code is drawn entirely in your browser.

Private by design

Stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded. The conversion runs in your browser: open the Network tab while you convert and you will see that nothing is sent. No account, no watermark, no daily limit.
